liquor liability laws

The laws will vary by state; but for the most part, the owner or operator of an establishment serving or providing alcoholic beverages is liable for injury or damages caused by or to an intoxicated customer, if it can be established that the owner or operator caused or contributed to the intoxication of the person through the sale of alcoholic beverages. These laws are sometimes called dram shop laws.
